Focused Hour

A dedicated one-to-one session to bring clarity, direction, and action to whatever’s on your mind

  • I work with people who have recognised that something feels “off” — maybe it’s a loss of direction, a habit that no longer serves them, or a general sense of disconnection. My clients are ready for a shift in perspective, outlook, or daily patterns, and they want to reconnect with themselves on a deeper level.

    They might be homemakers, professionals, or anyone in between — it’s less about job title and more about the match in energy and willingness to engage. This isn’t counselling or therapy. It’s for people who are open, committed, and courageous enough to make changes, even when it feels uncomfortable.

  • Your call will take place on Microsoft Teams and you can schedule the hour to suit you. Once you have booked your appointment, you will receive an email with a calendar invite which will contain the link to the session. Just log on to the call at your appointment time. 

  • When you join the session (in person or on-line), you can expect a warm welcome and we will dive straight into what brought you here. You will have time to explain what is on your heart and mind, and through questioning and discussion the issue will be clarified and brought to light. 

    A typical overall aim for the hour is for you to gain clarity in where you want to get to, have an appraisal of the current situation, lay out the options available to you and to close with your decision on what you want to do. Clear steps and actions at this point can be super helpful. It is a tall order in the space of one hour and so we will work efficiently.  

    Depending on what you bring, tools might be used to assist in opening up the situation and encourage consideration of different perspectives. For example, it might be useful to complete a values exercise in situations where you might feel compromised or out of alignment. This tool is useful for centering on your values and in turn can provide a personal compass for decision making and taking action.  

  • You will be sent a form to complete when you book your appointment. Ideally, you should complete this before the session for two reasons. One, it help you focus in on what you want to achieve or the issue you are currently facing. Writing it down can be part of the analysis. Two, I can be considering which tools might be helpful for you – though that might change in the session (this is quite common). 

  • Your appointment will be held at my home in Middlestown. The address will be provided when you make your booking.

  • With 24 hour's notice, you can email Donna to reschedule. Unfortunately this is not possible with less than 24 hour's notice though do be in contact to discuss.  

  • Therapy (or counselling) is often focused on understanding and healing the past. It’s typically used to address mental health conditions, process trauma, and work through deep emotional pain with the support of a trained therapist or counsellor.

    Coaching, on the other hand, is future-focused. We explore where you are now, where you’d like to be, and the steps to get there. While we may touch on your past for context, the aim is to create clarity, build confidence, and move into action.

    In my work, I bring together professional mental health expertise (as an NMC-registered Mental Health Nurse) with coaching techniques and holistic tools like Reiki. This means we can explore your challenges safely, while keeping the focus on moving forward and creating lasting change.
